The first hotel built in Taormina, the Grand Hotel Timeo began in 1850 as a humble guesthouse next to the Greek Theatre. The German artist Otto Geleng stayed here and painted the views from its terrace. Today it is one of the most iconic Belmond hotels in Sicily.
