Rosenberg Summer Camp – St. Gallen, Switzerland

A Swiss summer of learning, discovery and friendship, hosted by an elite boarding school.

Institut auf dem Rosenberg is one of Switzerland's most exclusive boarding schools. Each summer, its hillside campus above St. Gallen, in the green heart of eastern Switzerland, becomes a summer camp for young people aged 6 to 18 from more than 30 countries. The camp follows the school's "Artisans of Education" philosophy: every child is unique, so every programme is shaped around the student's interests, level and goals.

Each day combines classes in the morning with sport, outdoor adventures and cultural discovery in the afternoon.

Language courses: English or German

Students choose English or German and join a group that matches their level: Beginner (A1), Intermediate (A2–B1) or Advanced (B2–C1). Lessons focus on real communication, with lively conversation, listening exercises and interactive activities. Grammar and vocabulary are adapted to each learner. Students then use their new skills outside the classroom, during excursions and camp life. Private lessons are also available for those who want to progress faster.

Focus courses: discover a passion

Instead of languages, students can choose a focus course, taught in a hands-on way:

  • Diplomacy & Activism: leadership and today's global issues
  • Environmental Science & Sustainability: research and prototypes to meet environmental challenges
  • Fashion & Textile Design: sewing, textile printing and garment making
  • Fine Arts: drawing, painting and sculpture in many mediums
  • Informatics & Coding: creating your own website, app or game
  • Performing Arts: theatre and dance, with weekly performances
  • Robotics & Engineering: building your own computer or robot
  • Wealth Creation & Investment Essentials: first steps in finance through simulations
  • Succession Management Essentials: an introduction to family business and leadership
  • AI Agentic Enterprise Essentials: exploring artificial intelligence and AI agents

Sport, adventure and Swiss life

Afternoons are spent in the mountains, on the lake and on the campus sports grounds. Activities include horseback riding, tennis, football, hiking and swimming, as well as sports competitions, cultural events and expeditions to discover Switzerland. Evenings bring the group together around games, shows and campfires.

Life on campus

Students live in the school's residences and share double rooms, with full board and snacks throughout the day. Course materials, the activity programme, excursions and accident insurance are included. A dedicated team looks after the children from arrival to departure. Stays last two, three or four weeks.
