Located in Florence’s vibrant Santa Croce neighborhood, Palazzo Firenze brings together the European spirit of luxury that defines Baglioni Hotels & Resorts, the Italian collection of The Palace Company, with a slower, more authentic way to experience the city’s history, culture, and local character.
A Bridge Between Past and Present
Originally constructed in the first half of the 18th century at the request of Marquis Giovanni Maria Baldinucci, Treasurer to the Pope, Palazzo Jacometti Ciofi has preserved its historic and architectural legacy through the centuries.
Studio Marco Piva’s vision brings a contemporary perspective to the palazzo’s heritage, balancing timeless architecture with modern refinement.
Beauty by design
Within this vision, hospitality extends far beyond accommodation. The guiding principle is “beauty by design”—a deliberately crafted aesthetic meant to be experienced rather than simply observed. This philosophy resonates
strongly with Baglioni Hotels & Resorts, transforming Palazzo Firenze into a place that captivates, inspires, and lingers in memory.
Every corner of the palazzo has been carefully considered, from public areas to its 24 guestrooms and suites.
The De Pepi Suite, dedicated to a Florentine spice-trading family, draws inspiration from warm pepper tones and textures reminiscent of traditional mortars and grinders. The Da Verrazzano Suite honors Giovanni da Verrazzano, the first European explorer to discover New York Bay, with deep blues, warm ochres, and flowing forms capturing the rhythm of the sea.
“Palazzo Firenze represents a new chapter in the story of one of Florence’s most captivating historic residences,” says Flora Grillo, General Manager of Palazzo Firenze. “This redesign has deepened its character and identity, giving new life to its historic heritage through contemporary design language. Today, the palazzo fully expresses its soul, offering guests an authentic interpretation of Florence.”
